Associations claimed to Zapatero to abolish animal testing

BARCELONA, (IRIN) - The Association for the Defense of Animal Rights (ADDA), together with the international European Coalition for the Abolition of Animal Experiments (ECEAE), Zapatero today demanded the abolition of animal experiments , using the Spanish EU presidency.
At a press conference, attended by the director general of ECEAE, Michelle Thew, along with members of ADDA, Manel Cases and Montserrat Paredes, announced the goal of achieving the complete cessation "of death and dreadful suffering of millions and millions of animals, "Thew's words.
The CEO said that have been fighting for animal rights since 1990 but despite that have been marked improvements, there are still "many loopholes" that take companies to continue experimenting with animals, and with nonhuman primates.
"Many still experiencing saying they have no alternative or experimental animals pass by painless, but the public knows that all a lie," he said.
According to a recent survey by ECEAE, 81 per cent of the population is "unacceptable" that is experienced with animals, and 84 percent called for an immediate end, "without exception".
That is why Thew asked Spain to "let things clear" and take this "historic opportunity" to save the animals, requiring that promotes a new directive "totally clear, which reflects public opinion" to stop the suffering animal.
This new directive, there would be exceptions and will completely prohibit the animals were destined for experiments of any kind.
Cases spoke on behalf of ADDA, said he felt very "proud" of this opportunity, so he hopes that Spain will promote a directive for use in a "harmonica, without confusion or exceptions."
THE ECEAE fighting since 1990 for the revision of the Directive for the protection of animals for experiments and has 17 members, including representation from 14 member countries: Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Sweden, Finland, United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland.

A girl thrown into a river six puppies

A young woman was arrested for torture (and possible murder) of animals after a video posted online of herself committing such acts. To be more precise, the video shows how Puschnik Katja pulls the river and a major violence to puppies. After being released, and as different people began to see, created a Facebook group in which he directly stated hatred for this girl.
