In 2009 died 3292 less than 2008. Parliament Catalan decided at a vote if prohibits corridas. He has received over 140 000 signatures for its abolition. The vote will be left to the two main groups: PSC (37 members) and CiU (48), who have a common position.


The proposed Prou! reaches the final debate Wednesday with a small margin of advantage for the anti-bullfighting, since most of the members of CiU, the largest group of the House, are in favor of abolition.


But, despite all indications that the ban will go forward, still not the final word. ERC (21 members) and ICV (12) have confirmed a 20-minute vote for the proposal, while the PP (14) and Ciutadans (3) said they will reject.


Everything is left, therefore, the two main groups: PSC (37) and CiU (48), whose members do not have a common position and the parties have decided to give them a free vote. Against this background, Ciutadans cautioned that end up banning bullfights, Catalonia will have a "bit less freedom" and will be a community "less plural."
