The judges discussed a lawsuit that calls for abolishing the exception that the law gives these shows. The rule, which is contained in Law 84 of 1989, sees these shows are not acts of cruelty against animals. In full room Wednesday two judges remove themselves from further study of demand. The plaintiffs ask that this rule be declared unconstitutional because it violates the right of people to a healthy social and cultural environment. Only eight judges took part in the discussion on Wednesday as the president of the Court, Mauricio González Cuervo is on a tour of China.

The discussion was postponed to the next Plenary of 21 July.

The discussion of demand is based on a paper presented by Judge Jorge Ivan Palacio, which is favorable to the demand.

Moreover, the attorney in a concept considered that these shows are constitutional because they are part of the cultural heritage of the Colombians.
