Colombian authorities penalize animal circus

ADI research on the circus industry is to rescue chimpanzees. The Ministry of Environment has confirmed a resolution, produced earlier this year, through which sanctions are imposed for the owner of Circo Gasca, Martin Fuentes Gasca, and the representative of the company Protequem, Pedro Alfonso Villaraga, by Failure to comply with environmental legislation. These sanctions come as a result of an investigation initiated by the Ministry based on the evidence submitted by Animal Defenders International (ADI) on the use of animals in circuses in Colombia revealed staggering levels of violence and abuse. These incidents include documentation of a female chimpanzee, called Karla.

Monkey circus company presented in a state of malnutrition. Panama City .- The National Environmental Authority (ANAM) criminal complaint presented a "trade in exotic animals" before the Public Prosecutor against the Circo Hermanos Fuentes Gasca. The action is based on the circus introduced to the country six tigers, African elephants about 30 years, three camels and llamas, without permission of the Anam. Even the agency rejected his application for entry of animals, alleging breach of the Convention on International Trade in Wild Fauna and Flora. However, the circus animals had entered before submitting the application on 3 January, said Harley Mitchell, director of the Anam legal advice.
A lion named Belisarius, had to be euthanized at the zoo in Santacruz de Bogotá.

The vomiting appeared within minutes and his body fell slowly on the pavement. 'Belisario' will no longer roar and the cage will remain empty as his replacement arrives: his heart stopped yesterday (Thursday) at 10 am, at the zoo in Santacruz, after receiving intensive medical treatment. Locked protest against zoos

Executive locked outside the Chapultepec Zoo in Mexico City, invite people not to go to these places. During the summer the zoo receive more visits, so AnimaNaturalis Mexico activists staged a protest outside the zoo, looking to inform society about what is the situation faced by animals in these places. Activists handed out leaflets and informed the public that zoos are places where wild animals were captured in their natural habitat, are on display for human entertainment and the conditions under which animals are kept.
