Cormacarena highway concessionaire and campaigns to raise awareness among drivers. To go looking for love, food, or a den, wild animals living near the road between Villavicencio to Puerto Lopez had been killed when they cross the asphalt ribbon.
Fast cars, led by insensitive users literally have taken care of 'stripper'. The situation is so disturbing that 65 days have elapsed, 2010, the figure has already reached 36 animals counted.
Anteaters and palm trees, sloths, iguanas, alligators, stingrays or runch, snakes, foxes, herons, jirigüelos, turtles, armadillos, hawks, camandúas, snakes and eagles, among other animals characteristic of the fauna of the Orinoco, die en route migration, which started in search of basic needs.
Others are attracted by the waste heat from the asphalt during the night and some go after the lights of cars.
This was denounced zootecnista veterinarian and Ricardo Murillo, head coach of Agroecology Merecure Park, who said most of those deaths occur in the twilight hours and at night, which are the most active for a variety of wildlife.
Alvaro Coral biologist Cormacarena Environmental Corporation, said that among the causes of these events are the high-speed intercity routes, intersection or cutting tracks with gallery forests or dense plantations, lack of warning signs that warn of the presence of wildlife, lack of awareness of drivers and the habits of the species.
Oscar Robayo, chief operating officer of the dealership Highways of Los Llanos, which manages and operates routes linking to Villavicencio to Puerto Lopez, Granada and Cumaral, said sadly that situation is occurring and will work with Cormacarena to create alternatives to help mitigate The Flegel.
He reiterated that the problem also occurs in two ways and so does the dealership to pick up swept live domestic animals passing through these roads. "In so far this year have risen 71 animals," said Robayo.
For now, the dealership Cormacarena conducted before the installation of 8 fences on the road to Granada, 13 on the highway to Puerto Lopez and 5 in the corridor that links to Villavicencio and Cumaral, in order to reduce the abuse of animals and raise awareness drivers not to throw them over the car.
